My name is Beverly Douglas and I am the counselor for Mt. Olive Attendance Center, and the Covid Contact for the school year 2020-2021. One of my jobs is to make sure students have the classes they need to graduate. Other jobs include registering students for grades 7-12, keeping updated records, and trying to help students develop socially, emotionally, and academically. My contact with grades K-6 is typically on an "as needed basis." Oh, and I also coach the high school cheerleaders. "All for the Pirates, stand up and holler! Go, Pirates!"
My new title (Covid Contact Person) requires me to seek out contact a student or staff may have made with other students or staff should I get notification of a positive Covid test. I then have to reach out to all persons affected and make sure they know the protocol to follow for exposure.
My door is always open (literally and figuratively) when I am at school. Students and parents are welcome to come by with questions, issues, concerns, or just to say hi.
